SGS Newburn Lab is dedicated providing a complete service for the minerals industry analytical requirements. This function involves performing a significant portion of group Research and Development, activities in method development for SGS. SGS Perth represents the SGS minerals international laboratory group. SGS Perth has also invested in new sample preparation technology. Equipment includes ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) instrumentation with both Mass Spectrometry and Optical Emission Spectroscopy determination, X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometers, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers as well as instruments dedicated to individual elemental determination. AAS - XRF analysis - ICP OES & ICPMS - Instrumental Sulfur and Carbon Analysis - Classical techniques - Shipment Analysis - Umpire Analysis - Sample Preparation - MMI - Automated sample prep and XRF Fusion The facility utilises qualified and experienced chemists, metallurgical staff and highly trained technicians to operate analytical equipment. SGS Newburn's geochemical capabilities include: - Gold - Fire Assay, Aqua Regia Flame. This latter endorsement serves to accredit all methodology for ore analysis held within the group as technically sound. The laboratory holds both ISO 9002 certification and ISO Guide 25 accreditation (through NATA in Australia). SGS Perth Lab is also able to utilise the resources of SGS Australia to provide additional support and services either in conjunction with analytical testing or as a separate project. (more).
